KillAnApple
KillAnApple, a performance featuring Ukrainian artist and activist Daria Pugachova and Canadian singer-songwriter Charmian Devi took place on November 30th in Central Park, 2024.
Daria Pugachova arrived in NYC for the first time this October as part of an art residency program. She and Charmian Devi met at Jean-Michel Basquiat’s grave and developed a performance piece—a poignant reflection on the experience of war, modern society, and the human struggle for forgiveness and hope.
I am an Apple
I want to be free
I can’t look at this world
Kill me
KillAnApple is an activist sound-performance piece—a story of separation from home, facing life’s battles, and reconnecting with the source of existence. The full spectrum of human experience, both light and shadow, is reflected in this one song-action.
I am an apple
I fell from the tree
Forgive me mama
Set me free
